Apple has rolled out plans to deliver a steady flow of software updates to iPhones this year. There are also major changes yet to come with the iOS 26 and the upcoming iOS 27 during the WWDC conference in June. Here is the timeline to expect the rollout.

What iOS updates does Apple have planned for the year?


iOS 26.3

There is a beta version of iOS 26.3 available for beta testers.

New in iOS 26.3:

Enhanced switching and data transfer between iPhone and Android Devices

Notification forwarding for third-party smartwatches (EU only)

Proximity pairing for third party accessories (EU only)

Anticipated release date: Late January


iOS 26.4

iPhone users await a massive update in the form of iOS 26.4. This new version will come with a host of new features for Apple’s virtual intelligence Siri.

Personal contexting will allow Siri to locate specific details within stuff like notes, texts, and emails. On-screen awareness will allow Siri to act on what’s happening on your screen. Lastly, in-app actions enable the capability to control a certain aspect of an application using Siri. These were first promised with iOS 18, so they might be pushed back a bit.

Beta availability: Early February release expected Expected date of release: Late March or early April

iOS 26.5

iOS 26.5 is expected to come with a new Pride wallpaper in celebration of Pride Month that is in June. Apart from that, there are no details on what features iOS 26.5 is expected to offer. It is expected to be a minor iOS release since Apple is busy with iOS 27.

When to expect beta version: Early April

Expected release date: Mid May


iOS 26.6

iOS 26.6 will probably be concerned with bug fixes and optimization as it would be the last major iOS 26 version before iOS 27 comes out for public use in September. There are no rumors regarding any new features.

Anticipated release date: Late July


iOS 26.7

This will also come out with the release of iOS 27 as an alternative for those who don't feel like updating to iOS 27 right from the start.
